ARE YOU READY TO MAKE YOUR UNIFORM DIRTY?
You can always tell in sports who had a good game just by looking at someone's uniform after the game.
When I played baseball, at the end of every game you could check out uniforms and know exactly who left it all out there on the line to win. If your uniform was still perfectly clean, you either didn't play or you didn't have a very good game because it meant you were NOT on base. You didn’t leave it all out there
But if your uniform was dirty after the game, I knew you gave EVERYTHING you had. You had been diving all over the place, sliding into the bases and making EVERY EFFORT you possibly could to win the game.
The same is true in businesses. There is A LOT of talk out there about strategizing ,about peak performance and mental toughness, mindset and being motivated and inspired... (and it all matters) But at end of the day, YOU'VE GOT TO GET YOUR UNIFORM DIRTY!
You've got to BUST YOUR TAIL. You've got to DO THE WORK! Those who do all the little ugly , gnarly , dirty...just plain , NOT PRETTY things to win.
Ask yourself a question. If you look back at yesterday, did you get your uniform dirty? Did you make every last phone call, every last contact, every last rep in at the gym, every last possible effort you could so that at the end of the day you were exhausted wearing a dirty uniform?
Or at the end of the day was it still clean? You stayed pretty? You hadn't put your nose to the grindstone. Are you trying to stay clean and look PRETTY and still be successful?
Let's cut out all the BS and call it like it is. You've got to OUTWORK everybody to win! And some of that work is just plain hard. The player with the dirty uniform sacrificed their body in order to win. What are you willing to sacrifice? Are you willing to do the Ugly ? You can’t just think and strategize your way to success . Sometimes WINNING is LONELY and UGLY .
If you stack up enough days where your uniform is dirty I PROMISE you there's a victory in your future!
Tag somebody you know who has been busting their tail and let them know you're proud of them for getting their uniform dirty! #MaxOut
